Well hello there… pour yourself three fingers of the good stuff and sit on down. I was going to wax poetic about how the newly announced merger was good for the game of golf. I was going to say how surprised I was, but it turns out that 8 billion people were surprised less 5, and I was going to try and keep it classy. Where is the fun in that?
So the PGA decided to merge with LIV golf and the Saudis are backing the whole thing. They sold out faster than Miami’s stadium for Messi’s games next year. According to the PGA narrative that we LIV fans have been getting slapped with for two years, the PGA Tour just sold out and they did. They just got in bed with sports washing and the support terrorism and the killing of journalists and all of the bad things that have ever happened since the Golden Bear won his final major in 1986 or thereabouts.
What a crock of shit they turned out to be. Hypocrites check. They have conducted themselves like assholes since they pretended that their Nike swooshes aren’t as dirty with child labor violations as the Saudis human rights violations are. Rory will take that child labor money from Nike but he draws the line at killing innocent civilians? Where do you play golf Rory? That’s right, the US. Who has killed more innocent people since you’ve been alive? That’s right, the US. Obama killed an estimated 3,797 people and that includes 324 civilians. That was just Obama. How about George Bush going into Iraq looking for weapons of mass destruction that weren’t there to punish the Saudis that blew up the Trade Centers? How many died in that war or Syria or Afghanistan. In fact, according to Brown University 387,073 civilians have died in the wars as a direct result of the US. This is why you don’t take political science advice from a bunch of high school educated or cup of coffee clowns that in Rory’s case still can’t hit a wedge straight from 125 yards. They are poorly informed, they are a tool of the biased media, and they are doing nothing but protecting their money. C Thomas just put out a video of Nelson Mandela, and I will have Austerity attach it to these links because C Thomas made me give real stats. Mandela calls us the ones that are out of line. We have said it before- the PGA tour took Honda money for decades but Honda helped kill American soldiers in World War II.
Bryson Dechambeau goes on CNN and does an interview and frankly it wasn’t the greatest idea, but he said nobody’s perfect with regard to the Saudis and the media is roasting him. His response was completely fine. That’s cause he can’t come out and say hey point the finger back at yourself in the American media. Ask anyone around the world who has been the most out of line the last 20 years and it won’t be the Saudis. He can’t say that, but I can. Golf is a world-wide game and there have to be plenty of players that are sitting on thoughts that don’t do anything but make sense and cost themselves money which is why there were so many anonymous player quotes in the last two days. However, the assholes were still identifiable.
Grayson Murray is a golfer who is a PGA tour pro with one PGA win and that was 6 years ago. He is a grinder out there and trying to make a living. He probably believed the Kool-aid and turned down some money to jump because he was a Wake Forest guy and Arnold Palmer helped found the PGA tour and those guys all are tight with the scholarship program and all. He was angry and yelled at PGA commissioner Jay Monaghan to resign and called him a liar. Rory dumbfuck McIlroy has to jump in and tell him to “just play better Grayson.” Murray then told McIlroy to “Fuck off.” That’s right Rory “Fuck off.” Mr. Hundred millionaire telling the guy trying to grind out a living how to live and what to think.
Rory sold out to Nike and their kiddie labor overseas scheme and then his game has gone downhill for a decade. No one has been a better driver of the golf ball in the history of the game arguably (maybe Jack Nicklaus) and had a better advantage than Rory. But something changed from the carefree kid with the bouncing hair that was winning majors to the marketing man who is a kept man and will say whatever a sponsor tells him but he has an Irish accent, so it sounds really smart. The wool has been taken down on this charlatan finally. He then comes out today and says he still hates LIV golf and that they somehow won and all it does is show you he doesn’t know how to win, not even an argument now. Michael Block said it best after he played with Rory, “He is stupid long. I’d be one of the best players in the world if I hit it that far.” The media lambasted him, but it is true. The fact that Rory only has four majors with his talent makes him the biggest underachiever since John Daly, who knew he was doing it and having a good time. Be careful you little brat before you paint everyone with a broad brush considering you are a Northern Irelander, home of the NRA. A bunch of bombings and assassination attempts are in your country’s past too. You think we forget our history here at the CTPC? The hardest part about pointing your finger at someone is that there are usually three pointing back at you including the fuck you finger. Rory has just been acting like a rich prick who is an average player from fairway to green yet tries to act like he is Tiger Woods. The only similarity is that you are both assholes, and Grayson Murray was right. Enough of the David Sims now for some fun.
Phil Mickelson of the Highflyers is smiling like a Cheshire cat and tweeting beautiful day and smiling emojis. Brooks Koepka tweeted “Welfare check on Chamblee.” Brandel Chamblee, original hypocrite ninny from Austin. He almost choked on grandma’s pearls; he was so upset. He went to UT, found a nap pod and curled up and listened to his favorite Bernie Sanders speech. Stop the charade, your tour took Japanese money that was tainted by the blood of the US soldiers, you took Nike money that was tainted by the blood of children and underpaid workers all over Asia, and you have been driving vehicles and consuming products made with Saudi oil since September 12, 2001. Save us the outrage. You are golf, you aren’t a minister, and you aren’t a conscience police. You are mostly ex golfers with a really biased and uninformed view of world history.
No one really knows what is going to happen from here, mostly because it was a huge shock. There has been rumored that 5-7 people knew what was going on here and had the ability to make a deal. Greg Norman is the commissioner of LIV and supposedly he didn’t know what happened. The PGA and DP Euro tour and LIV are all going to sing Kum Bah Ya and make smores I guess. Make smore of that money is what they are going to make.
Here is smore speculation…This was about money, of course it was. The PGA’s product was being screwed up. You had no cut events and big money events basically copying the LIV events without the team concept. You had Rory missing big money events because he needed mental health time and sponsors don’t want to sponsor an event if the stars aren’t going to be there. Which was exactly what was happening at the non-big money events. It read like a who’s who or a WNBA lineup. I had no idea who was even playing. LIV took a lot of names and star power. Besides, LIV did really well in the majors with Brooks and Phil taking second at the Masters and brooks winning the PGA. Sponsors might have been thinking that their money needed to go someplace else. Their stars Rory and Justin Thomas were never a factor and missed the cut at the Masters and even John Rahm showed the PGA what a petulant child he was with his behavior at the PGA. They kind of found themselves without anyone to hang their hat on while old ass Phil was creating drama and a healthy Brooks Koepka showed everyone that he is the best player in the world. The viewers had to look at the world rankings and simply laugh when every major these LIV guys were hanging around and outplaying their PGA counterparts. They get more time off to rest, the events are no cut so the sponsors are happy, and while the TV ratings weren’t great on the CW (what could have been, the Super Bowl would have only drawn a 6 share on that network) but the app experience was fantastic and the crowds were excellent and this is after what 15 events?
Just like mergers in other sports, this was about money and quieting a potential threat. However, there is one other thing that we might never know about. There were lawsuits going this way and that, with the Masters, The PGA, the Saudis, and if I was a betting man it was the lawsuits that needed to go away. They announced that all lawsuits had been dropped, but no one paid attention to that because Chamblee was still sucking his thumb in his nap pod and nursing his trauma. The lawsuits had to go…the real power finally said that we aren’t going to open ourselves to fishing expeditions to our business practices and businesses. It is the same reason that Elon Musk bought Twitter for a price he knew was terrible. If not, he would end up in court and the fishing into his past would begin. That’s C Thomas’ default day dream, seeing Lieutenant Caffey extract the truth from Elon Musk on the stand.
I’m going to refill this glass and just reflect a bit here. Ahh, that’s nice. So this blog was set up to cover LIV golf and the majors and we will continue to do so in some form. I forgot to mention that I also think the Europeans would have been at a huge disadvantage in the Ryder Cup with no changes being made so there is another big money item that could use the personalities being available. Even the players, Scottie Sheffler and John Rahm were saying let’s get the best players. Interesting little side note. Well the winners are LIV, the biggest winner is Phil Mickelson probably. He took more heat, took a suspension that didn’t allow him to play the Masters and defend his PGS title and everything played out like he said. The tour was not giving the players nearly enough of the pie and boom. Two years later they were copying LIV and everyone was making more money, just like the man with the best calves in the game said. The LIV guys, if they can earn points again, will have an easier time playing majors which is a big win for them.
I think the PGA is the biggest loser right now, but this was good for them long term. They are going to take some heat as they should since they are the hypocrites here. Rory looks bad and should, some of the other vocal people like Jack Nicklaus who said they aren’t even in the game anymore will have an awkward time shaking a LIV golfer when he comes to Jack’s tournament, which was kind of a wreck by the way, and wins. Jack although golfing royalty also isn’t without fault. Like I said, it wasn’t so long ago that he and Arnold broke away from their regulatory body to do their own thing. How time flies… That chubby kid turned out to be the goat and his tour was a long term winner. I think Phil or Brooks will be affiliated with the LIV success someday. There will be big changes for the PGA tour and quite quickly in my opinion.
We have the US Open coming up in LA next weekend so until then we will get some more information about this big surprise. It’s a good day to be a LIV Golf fan. Fortune favors the bold boys…
Insightfully yours,
G Spot Johnson
